Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Was really pissed off last night when I turned to on and our set top box would not get 1 (was not getting ABC either), so time to head out for a new aerial before next week.
With a huge chance of rain and the top 3 appearing to be as closest to each other all season should be a ripper of race, please, please, please let Mark get through the first corner first and intact. Would like to see him lead at least one lap this season.

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
So what did you think of the German gp?
I found it really exciting in parts and was facinating to see strategies and how things played out. Why Webber we from a having a pace that was on the money to going so far off is intriguing. Was hoping for a majoy downpour in the last couple of laps.
I ended up streaming the gp from 1, it still had add breaks in it but it was better than watching lap times and commentary on the PC. Would love to be able to stream from the BBC website directly but that is quite involved to get around the security (from the bit I read).

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Yeah i too was looking forward to seeing a down pour of rain during the race. Was great watching the first 3 battling it out during the first stint. I thought it was a good race overall, track temp with the tyres played a big part at times.
Watzi, here are some live stream links for F1 broadcasts. I havent yet tried them but some of my old LFS racing guys use them.

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Thought it was a sensational race, and great to see it not being a one horse race anymore, although Vettel will probably come back and dominate over the next few races again. Can't believe there weren't more accidents than that. Poor Heidfeld must feel hard done by. Gets taken out by Buemi, then handed a drive through, then told he is not required next week.
Is there any danger of Webber getting that car off the line properly for one race?

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Hey Ulti, do you know if those links give a live feed of practise too? Wish they would show the practise sessions live
Downloaded a cool App for my iPad, which shows lap times, sector times, positions on track, speeds etc. Love it

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
BM is it for the iPad only or will it work on the iPhone? Is it the Formula1 app?
I have the free version of the Formula1 app and it shows sector times, position, gaps. I think the paid one show a map of the circuit and then updates real time the positions of where each driver is on the circuit.
From what ever you take from practice: First session is Hamilton from Vettel, Alonso, Webber, Button, Massa.

I think it is for iPhone too Watzi. I only have the demo version, they want $21.00 for the rest of the season.
With the way Webber has been starting, I predict he wll be 8th or 9th into the first corner, and we know how ugly it can get in the middle of the pack

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Ha, I was right, he was 8th On another note, what the hell were Hamilton and Webber thinking going to intermediates!!!!!
Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Was turing into a great 5 way battle when they pitted and then pitted again. Even with six stops Hamilton still managed to get get ahead of Webber, those McLarens are looking real strong ATM.
Not another race till the end of the month

Over at Crash.net they have scored the drivers mid season. Linky to the article for drivers 1 to 10 then 11 to 20 and 21 to 27.
Did anyone else see these? What where your thoughts? I was a bit surprised by Rosberg being so high but ahhh well.

WOW shock to see Daniel so far up the list, even making the list after 3 races is amazing.
How Kobayashi is above Mark i would never know, he is such a loose canon.

A very interesting race is unfolding at Spa. Disappointing start again from Mark but running 3rd on a contra strategy will be interesting.

Yeah that four weeks took a long time, but it was worth the wait, you are right Ulti a great race.
What was your take on some of the incidents last night and Sat night:
- Maldenado and Hamilton?
- Koybashi and Hamilton?

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Missed the first one you mentioned Watzi - (Must have had a nanna nap then)
As for Hamilton & Koby - We'll I am sure Hamilton just didn't think Koby was going to be there. Never assume with Koby as the guy is so unpredictable. Why Hamilton needed to drift across that far is a little weird, he obviously didn't check the mirrors too well.
Did Webber get told to hold the gap again. I missed a few laps after crashing out again (big day out) & caught the last few laps & over herd them talking about Horner telling Mark to keep the gap.
If so I am sick & tired of the double standards in this team.

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
The maldenado and hamilton issue was in qually. i actually missed the inital but hamilton apparently dived down the inside of maldenado while he was on his hotlap during qually 2. i agree with the penality given to maldenado, as that was stupid to swerve into hamilton at the end. if he hadnt of done that hamilton might have been given a penality.
hamilton and koby incident was hamilton's fault. i know he has admitted to that after seeing the replay's, but geez if you didnt even know who was next to you when the accident happened then you mustnt have been paying much attention to what you were doing.

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
Yeah read today that Hamilton accepted fault for the Kobi incident as he said he drifted back across him.
Will, I did not hear he was told to hold the gap but was expecting it as he was charging when he passed Alonso into second but the gap to Vettle was too large for him to bridge over the last 6 laps. I was preempting if they would because there was so few laps left and they where very passionate about getting a one-two, with all that happened with the tyres and that they where never competitive here. [Note: Webber has signed for next season so he must feel comfortable where he is, just needs to get off the line better]
They have been saying that Webber's over take on Alonso going into Eau Rouge was the moment of the race (if not the season). I remember Jonathan and David when he did it where super impressed.
Hopefully Monza can give us another great race.
Yep BM well worth a watch.

Wasn't a bad race, but not as great as I thought it wiuld be. Maybe it lost something when fast forwarding through it?
But...another weekend of F1 And working from home Monday, so can watch it Live

Re: Formula 1 - 2011
First practice session done and dusted. Hamilton from Button then Vettel and Webber, not sure you can take a lot away from this given they experiment with so much during FP1 and 2 but the good news it another race weekend is underway.
Nice, working from home Monday BM, this is my last race weekend when I am on leave and also the last of Europe where they slot nicely into 10pm start.
