Ha, nothing happens quickly in QLD Watzi Razz Place still isn't finished, but hoping to have everything done by 20th March. Wife keeps adding things to my list, and this rain isn't helping me get things finished in the backyard No

As i have said.

There is always help at hand if needed, especially if the list is getting longer.

One weekend we could knock over a few jobs.

Thanks for the generous offer Wilbur, it is greatly appreciated. I have a carpenter mate who has been doing the framework and internal doors downstairs, and only charges $35 per hour cash in hand. He told me today he has a free week coming up, and I have decided I have had enough, so am giving him a few of the jobs inckuding installing skirting and architraves, building more privacy screens, and a few other things.

List is definately getting shorter. Problem occurs, like on Sunday, when it is a hot sunny day, and the pool is only about 15 feet away from where I am working. We ended up sitting around the pool with a cold beer instead of working drunken

No, it means we are lazing around drinking when we should be working. The list isn't get shorter as quick as it should be. Currently on 3 days Annual Leave, trying to get it over the line. Wife keeps adding big things to the list, things that take half a day or more No

Hope the 3 days off got you through a big chunk of the list.

I have spent the day taking the weather-boards of a small section of our place and putting insulation in and putting silver paper over that. Tomorrow it is about fixing the weather boards to go back on as well as figuring out how to patch some biggish gaps around the chimney and painting the edges with undercoat ready for the weather-boards to be replaced.

Yep Watzi, got most of them done, but not as many as I should have. List is down to about 25-30 items, mostly cosmetic. Put the last screw in my deck this afternoon now that the lights have been installed. They look great cheers Now just need to stain it on Sunday morning. Found out this afternoon the photographer will be coming late Sunday afternoon instead of Monday, so will be a mad rush to finish anything that will be in the photos Very Happy Will be on the internet on Tuesday, with first open house next Saturday.

Well, the first of several big milestones today, having the photographs done for the marketing. The house really looks grea of a night with it all lit up with deck lights, pool lights, landscape lights etc. Our little run down 2 bedroom workers cottage is nkw a beautiful 4 bedroom 2 storey swan :-) Can't wait to see the photohraphs. Now just a few more small jobs before the first open house next Saturday, then one on Wednesday night, en each following Saturday until it sells.

That median house price is several hundred thousand below worst case scenario :-)

That is stunning BM, you should be very proud of all the work and the results !!!!

I can now even more see how you would get trapped by the pool when you are supposed to be working. When you are sick of sitting by the pool (if that is possible) the views from the upstairs deck would be a great substitute.

Don't know Brisbane but the location seem ideal as well. I am sure you will get what you want for the place.

Thanks very much Watzi, I appreciate the comments. The photos do make it look beautiful, but I still see all of the little flaws. It is such a HUGE transformation of the hosue, most people are amazed.

The location is excellent. Walk to and from the city, only 20 minutes to the airport, and 10 minute walk to Suncorp stadium for the rugby fans. The first person to show interest is someone from Sydney, and there has been a lot of interest apparently. So let's see how we go Smile

BM I hope that now you have had a Thur/Sat (the most common days in Vic for inspections) that you have had a some good genuine interest.

Had the first open house on Saturday watzi. Seems to have gone reasonably well, with a couple of interested buyers, but let's see what happens this week. have an open house on Wednesday night so people can see it all lit up. Can't really do much now except let the real estate agent do his job, and hope for the best.

Well, after 5 offers in the first 2 weeks, very late last night we got the amount we wanted (plus a bit extra). So the contracts are signed, and now we have the stress of. A 10 business day "unconditional" period while they get a building and pest inspection done, and obtain financial approval. So can't get too excited just yet silent

Thanks Ulti. Sorry we haven't had a chance to catch up for a beer, just so much been going on. Will try to get something organised before we head back to Melbourne.

We settle 30 days after the cooling off period ends Watzi, which is about 28th may I think. We are then looking at hiring this baby for a nice leisurely 5 day trip down the coast to Melbourne http://www.maui.com.au/motorhome-hire/platinum-campervans-forest?popup. The cat is really the determining factor here, as it didn't do well on the flight up, although that was about 8 years ago Very Happy

We have had over a year to enjoy the main part of the renos, the upstairs areas, but have been spending some time downstairs enjoying those new rooms too lately, and will have Easter then a month to enjoy it further.

Well that camper van looks like a nice way to get down, I am sure the cat will appreciate having a couple of spare double beds to relax in on the trip down Cool

Very nice looking deck, in a few years I will be having to build one so if you are free ............... Wink You look like you spent a bit of time getting all the joins nicely cut and aligned, great colour.

I hope that you are going to have a nice farewell bash and leave the home in style.
