Re: Windows 7
Sorry Willy, I can't really comment mate, I am the worst when it comes to upgrading Windows platforms at home I haven't had any exposure to Windows 7.
Will call you early this week, as we have some news to share (no, not baby news either )

Re: Windows 7
Will, I have been using Windows7 for a year now. Went from XP to the release candidate and then to the full version. I don't have a great computer but it copes well with it (Processor is a AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+ 2.21GHz, with a GeForce 9800 GT graphics card). I had used Vista at the last place I worked so it was not too unfamiliar to use. I am not really a techi sort of person from a hardware point of view but it does everything I have asked, I can not recall any "blue screens of death" or where I have had to reboot to free memory. I did upgrade my machine to 2Gb of ram. The performance index for my PC is 4.1 (being the lowest score in 5 different categories, got 4.1 for memory and processor).
Is there anything in particular you want to know?
To answer your question it would come down to how happy you are with your current OS? Is it crashing a lot? Have you heard about a feature in Windows7 you want to use? How old is your machine? Will it cope with the OS? I am happy that I have changed over and would recommend it (if your hardware will cope).
[Note I also decided to run the 64 bit version as well]

I shall bring the Margarita Mix & Tequilla......
Watzi,
I am currently running XP 32bit.
The computer is running really sluggish & i feel that i really need to put to use the quad core cpu i have installed.
I may just take the plung & buy it.

Good luck Will, Windows 7 should much better use the quad core than XP.
Installation was really easy and pretty quick as well.

Re: Windows 7
Thanks for the info Watzi.
I may upgrade the memory as well as i am running 2gig so another 2gig may just be what the doctor ordered.
I installed win 7 on a friends computer & it was very easy & simple.
Only downside is the missing Outlook, (which i use for emails as the wife uses MS Outlook)
Cheers
