Paris–Roubaix
Hey GT, glad you came over to visit mate, after you made me use my account on the SLAK forums for the first time in about 4 months Thought of you while watching the Paris–Roubaix last night. Man, that is one tough race. Do they use different rims/ tyres for that race or the same road ones they use in all the other races? Those cobblestone lanes would be a nightmare, did you see how many huge pileups there have been?
Re: Paris–Roubaix
Yes I did wander over and sign up. And yes they use different wheels and tyres and less psi etc to cope with the pave or cobbles.
Sorry about the PM but did not know how else to find you, if I had of thought about it, it was obvious actually.....
I see a lot of names I know and am guessing it is about playing with those you have got to know over the years. Still playing DODs and not much else.
When I get back from Giro end of next month ( yes another cycling holiday in Italy - woot) will suss out this rFactor gig and see about giving it a crack. You will have to excuse the TA/TK, from an old rally driver like me! Hopefully you have casual nights and not all Championship Rounds etc
Cheers and glad to see all is well over here.

Off to Italy again...damn you. My wife and I are so badly wanting to get over to Europe, but I just can't get time off, and then I use my leave up in small batches so end up with none left anyway Either that or we blow it on a new car
Have a good trip

The thing that blew me away BM was when Cancellara just blew them away with 47klms to go.
Just looked like they were standing still, was an awesome display.

Yep, just watched it again Willy, awesome job! 6:35 is a long time in the saddle, especially over cobblestones
GT, are you riding the course again this time? I assume you will take one of those beautiful bikes of yours over, or do you borrow/hire one?

Re: Paris–Roubaix
Riding part of 1 or 2 stages of the Giro, but we will be around Amalfi Coast for a lot of it. 10 days of riding all up average of 100 ish a day I think. Not in the Dolomites so not as many hills but longer rides each day. Which means more Peroni at night.....
I take my bike as is all fitted up to me whereas a renter would require a bit of fiddling to get right. Means have to lug it over on plane but once on trip you usually ride to next hotel every 2-3 days and support van transports it to 1st Hotel and moves our luggage from Hotel to Hotel.
Paris Roubaix is brutal and not sure how they do it, I did 145k a few weeks back around Torquay and Lorne and that was OK but was only 4.5 hours in the saddle and not over cobbles.
Lots of cycling on TV on Eurosport for those with Foxtel.
