Moto GP
So will anyone be watching this?
So who do you think will take out the Championship?

Re: Moto GP
Don't follow the bikes as closely as the cars but think that this year should be a ripper with Stoner, Lorenzo and Rossi all finishing last year well, so should be good close racing.
The advantage, I think, that the bikes have over the cars is there is more passing and generally closer racing.
Just looked at what time it is being shown and 5:30AM Monday. Not sure I am that keen to get up and watch it. Interesting if I am reading it right they are racing in Qatar at 11:00pm so I guess One is showing it live, hope this trend continues!!
What are your thoughts Will?

Re: Moto GP
Casey all the way mate Love theMoto GP Willy, always watch it, and am really hanging out for it after the 5 month break Casey Stoner came back so strong after his illness. He was on fire with 2 wins out of the last 3 races. Some brilliant racing with Stoner, Lorenzo, Rossi and Pedroza, not all one way like in some past years with Rossi
Re: Moto GP
I am looking forward to exactly the same battle BM.
I am torn as to who will win this year.
While i am in awe of Rossii & his skill, i think that Pedroza or Lorezo could be a big chance this year.
Casey i would like to see win, but i think he needs to mature & i hope this year he will show that.

Re: Moto GP
Well qualifying has Stoner first a fair bit faster than Rossi then Lorenzo. He must be riding that bike soooo well as he seems so much quicker than anyone else and through the speed trap nearly 10km/h faster than Rossi.

Re: Moto GP
Oh my is right BM
What the hell did he do, push too hard.
He had Rossi where he needed him & bang lost the front end.
Oh well.
Was loving the battle for 2, 3 & 4.

Did anyone watch the qualifying last night?
Saw the first half and then fell asleep, long day with a few beers and I just struggled. The main four up front and all reasonably close. Interesting to see how Rossi's shoulder goes in a full race situation.

Re: Moto GP
Yeah, was some great laps there. Rossi really looked like he was suffering when it finished. Was riding the last lap with his left arm off the handle bars. Hopefully Casey can stay on his bike. More importantly, I hope they show more of his wife Adriana..hubbah, hubbah
Man, did you see the start of the Moto2 race? About 9 or 10 bikes down. Must have been some oil on the track.

Re: Moto GP
What an awesome ride by Lorenzo. How gutted would Pedroza be? I am sure he is happy with second, but to lead for 26.5 of the 27 laps. How the hell can a person swim in full racing leathers, gloves and helmet??? Also, how boring are fireworks in the middle of the day?
Re: Moto GP
Rossi is gone for the rest of the season.
A displaced and exposed fracture of his right tibia.
That has got to hurt.

Re: Moto GP
Did you hear what they just said on the coverage. They are leaving the wound open for a while before sewing it back up after the op....OMG....I missed why, but, WTF would that do to make it better?

Re: Moto GP
They said they are leaving it open so they can keep an eye out for any infections. Great last lap by Casey to get those 2 positions back. You could see he was taking it so easy all race, he just doesn't have faith in the bike. When I saw the Ducati go down I thought it was him for sure, but luckily only Nicky Hayden (almost wrote Mathew hayden for a minute)
Re: Moto GP
Casey hasn't been happy ever since they put the new front end on the bike.
You can see that it is not right when it corners.
It was easily seen when Nicky crashed out. The front end just slipped out.

Re: Moto GP
I thought it was Stoner at first too....I thought that it was pretty obvious Stoner was just turning laps behind the other two waiting to see if he made it to the end. My thinking was that he could have taken them any time, but, didn't want to be in a position where he was testing the bike in a battle for any longer than he had to because of his lack of confidence in the bike. IMO he was a class above the other two that he overtook at the end. Just my uneducated observations mind you. I don't get to watch the bikes very often.

Re: Moto GP
Awesome ride from Stoner....I wonder what happened to him off the line. Dead last at turn 1. Then close to the fastest bike on the track for the rest of the race. Through all that traffic without coming off. Maybe his confidence in the bike is coming back.

Re: Moto GP
The funny thing was, before the race I almost posted something about maybe he wasn't giving it his all and not putting his body on the line because the championship was out of his reach and the rumours about him going to Honda next season
Glad I didn't

Re: Moto GP
The last two rides have convinced me that he has some real class. Particularly that ride last night. 5th may not sound like much, but, to ride through the whole field means that he is a step above every one of those guys that he passed. It says to me that he was the best rider in that field last night as even the 1st placed getter didn't put any more of a gap on the field in the second half of the race and Stoner just got closer.....great ride.

Re: Moto GP
Did anybody watch the Qualifying last night? Or did you fall asleep
The highlights for me:
How courageous is Rossi? Only 42 days after breaking his leg like that and he is back up and racing, and less than a second off the pace
De Puniet was lucky to not be too seriously injured after his tumble on Lorenzo's oil (wasn't that a TV show?)
Lorenzo so casually pulling his bike over while it was on fire and pouring oil over the circuit. Sitting astride a large container of highly flammable fuel with fire lapping at his thighs, not something I would enjoy
Watching Stoner at the end of the main straight every lap, doing a couple of hundred kilometres an hour, his back wheel bouncing up off the track SIDEWAYS!!!!
Should be a great race I reckon
