Wii Console
Well santa brought us a Wii this year, along with Wii Sports, Sports Resort, Wii Cricket and Wii Fit.Finally got a chance to set it up this morning and can't stop playing table tennis, how brilliant is it The way you can spin and shape the ball so much just like in real Table tennis is awesome We are intending to have a bit of a Wii party on NYE with a group of people coming around, so need to get the practise in (as Willy goes off to practise too) Was hoping we would have downhill snowboard racing, but can't find which game it is
Anyhoo, abosultely love it so far. the Cycling races should be a hoot, and the archery is a bit of fun too

Re: Wii Console
Santa came to us again today. Our 50" pioneer Plasma has been overheating a little bit, causing some discolouring at the top of the screen, so it is being retired to the poool room where I can setup some sort of cooling to get a few more years out of it. So, we needed a new screen to play the Wii on for NYE. So out we went with em wanting to pickup a cheap Samsung 50", but my wife had other plans and we ended up getting one of these:

The new 55 Inch 8 Series Samsung LED LCD, it looks amazing. Thank you santa

Re: Wii Console
Thanks Triggy. Just had the funniest moment setting up the Wii Fit. My wife, who is 40, had her Wii age calculated as 49. She then made me get on it so she could have a laugh at me and it calculated mine as 38...5 years younger than I actually am She is rather cranky about that
Re: Wii Console
HAHA! Same thing with relative ages hapened to me and my wife. Can't remember the ages, but, it was in a similar vein. What a crack up!

Re: Wii Console
Have had the Wii for a while now and it is good fun. It really only gets played when friends come over and it then tends to be Wii Sports or Mario Kart.
When I was looking at buying this my partner was a bit skeptical and thought we should be buying an XBox or PlayStation she thought the Wii would be boring and not much fun. So when I had a day off went and bought it when she got home that night I could see the anger in the eyes when she saw me playing on the Wii. I told her to say nothing but have a game of tennis with me, so she snatched the control and went and sat on the couch. I told her to get up and she reluctantly did and when she started to play had an absolute ball and ended up in lots of laughter. I wanted to buy it because it has universal appeal (the mother in law has even had a go) and is not so console like.
At Christmas my partner bought the Cricket game. It seems OK for the little bit we have played so far bit early to tell yet but first up I would not recommend it. Will need to play a bit more to confirm.
It sounds like Wii sports resort is good fun.

Re: Wii Console
Yeah, from what we have played, the Sports Resort is the most fun. I can't stop playing Table Tennis, and my wife loves kicking my a$$ at Bowling and Archery I do have the Cricket game floating around here but haven't opened it yet. the only thing with the Tennis we have played is that you can only play doubles.
Re: Wii Console
If you mean the tennis that comes with Wii sports (that generally comes with the console), just hover your pointer over the players that you want to change and press the a button. It will change between the computer playing them and anyone else you have active as a player with another controller. I often play with my daughter on the same team against the computer. It tends to match the skill level evenly between a high skilled and low skilled player pretty well.

Re: Wii Console
Yeah, I know that, but you can't play singles against each other You can control both players on the one side, but not one on one.
Re: Wii Console
I'm bringing Mario Tennis BM so i will look at if there is one or two player options.
Do i need to bring the Wiifit board as well?
Been slaving this morning making Gelato & Sorbet for tonight

Re: Wii Console
Not sure if we have any multiplayer games that require the Fit Board Willy, and will most likely be sticking to Bowling, Archery, Tennis etc, so just bring the Remotes, Motion plus and Nunchucks. We have someone else bringing theirs too, so better to have too many than not enough Lucky we have the 55" now so 4 player split screen won't be so hard on the eyes.
I was on call for a client for the last 2 days and half of today, but have ended up actually working 10 hours each day and started at 7:00 this morning Should be right after a few drinks though

Re: Wii Console
OK so the dust should have settled on the festive season, so what are the thoughts on the Wii games in 2010? Have only had a couple of games of the cricket and still not rating it highly.

Re: Wii Console
I was given the cricket game, complete with Kookaburra bat Watzi. Played it for 15 minutes, then sold it on eBay for more than my wife paid for it Do enjoy the Wii Resort Sports though. It is probably the only one I have enjoyed, but haven't really touched it since NYE.
Re: Wii Console
Hey Watzi, I have a new game for the Wii that is being released in a few weeks, want me to upload it to the internet for you?
I saw the Vancouver 2010 game advertised, I wonder if it is any good?

Re: Wii Console
Yeah I saw that article yesterday, don't crack the game and we will be fine
Yeah I have the game with 2 bats (well just because I guess). Have persisted with it a bit more, struggle bowling but batting I was starting to get the hang of.
I will keep my eye out for Wii resort to come down in price and will get that.
